It’s a short reminder that success can usually be measured by the number of uncomfortable conversations we are willing to have, and by the number of uncomfortable actions we are willing to take. – Tribe of Mentors – Page XX
Lessons learned Tribe of Mentors
1. Stop using labels…
I think humans can only feel real hatred of people they’re able to dehumanize in their heads. Tribe of Mentors – page 44
We have perfected the art of turning humans into labels and then we can treat them horrible with a clear conscience. We don’t see people as their individual unique selves but as a label of color, belief system, characteristic that we can then dehumanize them.
I have worked in customer service essentially my whole life and it never ceases to amaze me how other humans can treat another human simply because they have labeled them and thus can treat them as a label, not a human. We have to learn how to reprogram our minds to see people as unique, individual humans. The world could be so different.
2. Surround yourself well…
It helped me realize that the secret to change and growth is not willpower, but positive community. – Tribe of Mentors – Page 98
The people we surround ourselves with is so important to the success of our lives. If you want to accomplish anything in life find someone to do it with. Your chances of success go up 10x it can’t be overstated.
3. Cut sugar out of your life…yesterday
Sugar is toxic. – Tribe of Mentors – Page 110
Sugar is one of the most addictive substances in the world. We excuse it because we love it and we demonize other addictions. Stop eating sugar it is slowly killing us all.
