Change your thoughts change yourself…

A quote from Roald Dahl about inner beauty and self-worth.

Roald Dahl has been my favorite author since childhood. The above quote can be found in his book “The Twits.” It is a perfect example of how important the thoughts that we allow in our heads can affect how people perceive us.

Psychology, science, religion, and sports, most areas of life have long taught us that the mind and the power of our thoughts really has no measure. The inner thoughts that we allow our minds to hold on to and grow with begins to shape a false reality that we begin to believe is real. The inner thoughts that we have grown up with have so much to do with the person we have become.

The key to true change in your life is changing the inner thoughts that go through your mind. You can change your environment, you can change your relationships, you can change your diet but most of us find that it only lasts a week or two before we are right back into the same things we were doing before the change. If we don’t do the hard work of changing the inner thoughts in our mind we don’t stand a chance to see any thing different in our lives.

One of the best ways to see your inner thoughts change is to begin to journal. It is one of the greatest first steps to begin to see change in your life. Those who are able to put on paper their inner thoughts and see them for themselves allows one to face the thoughts and begin to see what needs to be changed. I challenge you if you want to see any type of change in your life take five minutes and just dump your thoughts on paper. It doesn’t have to be pretty. It doesn’t have to make sense. Just write, get the thoughts out of your head and on to paper so you can begin the journey of transformation.

The aim of discussion, should not be victory, but progress. Joseph Joubert
